User Levels and Roles Definition

SmartMIB Application suites define different levels of Users. Each User Level is determined by its relation to:

· The network itself,

· The managed data,

· The Management Process, and

· The resulted Reports.

User Level support also varies amongst the different suites.

Users are classified as either System or Zone related; User levels are:

System Administrator (SysAdmin)

This User type has full access to all data and components including all running system settings and components, management processes, reports, and maps. This User level type is supported by all the suites of SmartMIB.

Zone Administrator (ZoneAdmin)

This User type has full Read and Write access to all data and components pertaining to a particular Autonomous Zone (AMZ) including all running management processes, reports and maps. This User level type is supported starting at the Professional Plus suite and later suites of SmartMIB.

System Operator (SysOpr)

This User type has limited Read and Write access to system wide settings and components. For the Database Resets, system Users, and Supported MIBs components; This User has only Read access. This User type is supported by all the suites of SmartMIB.

Zone Operator (ZoneOpr)

This User has limited Read and Write access to all data and components pertaining to a particular Autonomous Zone (AMZ) including all running Management Processes, Reports and Maps. This User level is supported starting at the VERTEX suite and later suites of SmartMIB.

System Manager (SysMgr)

This User type is used to monitor the activity logs of all other User tasks and events in relation to the system wide operations, and reports. This User level is supported starting at the VERTEX suite of SmartMIB.

Zone Manager (ZoneMgr)

This User type is used to monitor the activity logs of all other User tasks and events in relation to a certain AMZ wide operations, and reports. This User level is supported starting at the VERTEX suite of SmartMIB.

System Help Desk (SysHelp)

This User has limited Read access to some System components. This User level is supported starting at the VERTEX suit of SmartMIB.

Zone Help Desk (ZoneHelp)

This User has limited Read access to particular AMZ components. This User level is supported starting at the VERTEX suit of SmartMIB.

Financial Controller (FinCtrl)

This User is limited to viewing the Reports for accounting and/or billing purposes only.
