ANMS is focused on creating automated and secured IP Network Management solutions for small and large enterprises, service providers, and telecom carriers, reducing cost and providing superior capabilities and with the flexibility, modularity, and ease to apply, scale, integrate, and modify solutions to continually meet evolving operational and business objectives. In so doing, our products are changing the face of the NMS industry and creating a new generation of IT network management.

Our approach to management of IP networks is unique as we have developed and implemented an Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS) service type framework to complement the widely known Network Management System Model - the FCAPS model. We use IMMS as a foundation for the development of our network management solutions enabling us to deliver more capability, quickly and cost effectively.

The Maintenance Management Systems deliver a service where its fundamental model is the primary means for understanding/interpreting the major functions of Network Management Systems. This model implements both Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance. Each model then consists of the following five conceptual areas of the maintenance of Management Information:

The Traffic-Flow of management information,
The Authority over the management information,
The Quality of the management information,
The Integrity of the management information, and finally.
The Presentation of the management information.

The maintenance of management information is integrated to varying degrees in any or all of the above conceptual areas in either the Preventive or the Corrective sense. IMMS is the next layer of services to complement the NMS model and provides the basis for the next generation of Network Management solutions.

Our introduction of IMMS serves to resolve many NMS industry problems that many known NMS systems fail to address, or fall significantly short of resolving. Hence IMMS introduces a rich foundation for IP management enabling our flag SmartMIB application suite to deliver the following essential services:

Scalability of the management information;
Logical grouping of the managed elements identified as management zones;
The ability to build and customise management processes; and
The assignment of those processes to autonomously managed zones.

To fully meet these exacting objectives, we developed a “Higher-Level Manager” designed to understand, deal with, and cater for the complexity of the industry standard Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) structure. This is our proprietary SNMP Operating System SOS Language (or SOSL).

The introduction of SOSL enables network administrators to:

Understand, drive, and custom fit the underlying management processes to their prospective networks in accordance with their own – perhaps unique - management requirements and/or policies. SOSL could then be used to build intelligent solutions based on Event-Driven management combined with Result-Driven management solutions.

Open the door for a large number and a wide range of elaborate and creative management solutions that are able to interpret the current industry standards correctly and fully. This affords Administrators the opportunity to better utilise the HUGE network information infrastructure already available throughout their networks. The industry has been seeking such solutions for a very long time but progress has been elusive due to cost and complexity barriers.

Security of SNMP was introduced through SNMP Version 3. Hence the significance of SNMPv3 support is really critical for building secured solutions. We would note that NO serious SNMPv3 based NMS application solutions are available on the market today.

Our final word on our Strategy

Our view derived from extensive hands on knowledge in managing real networks and creating real solutions based on the SNMP protocol is that the SNMP Protocol and network management standards are severely under utilised, even misunderstood in many respects.

While there are advanced NMS solutions available in the market today, many of those solutions and applications are limited in their capability and they lack the broader vision of NMS and SNMP. They are also inherently expensive to run, maintain, and difficult to patch.
