Element’s Performance Management
(SM-Pro- Performance)
(SM-ProUpd-Performance)
(SM-ProPlus- Performance)
Solution’s Alarms and Thresholds:
Threshold detection points could be set according to pre-calculated optimal operational measurement values representing maybe Service Level Agreements and expectations where violations could be reported in Real-time messages as well as in final history reports.
The Performance management script defines the following threshold conditions:
|
Data |
Threshold Description |
|
bufferFail and bufferNoMem |
Number of device buffer memory
allocation and creation failures respectively: Ø Buffer Allocation failure alarm. If the number of allocation failures exceeds 5 hits within the specified period (15 minutes) an alarm is to be generated. Ø Buffer Creation failure alarm. If the number of Creation failure exceeds 1 hit within the specified period (15 minutes) an alarm is to be generated. |
|
ciscoMemoryPoolFree, and ciscoMemoryPoolLargestFree, and ciscoMemoryPoolUsed |
Number of memory pool unused bytes and the largest unused contiguous bytes and the number of currently used bytes. No specific Threshold values are specified; it is up to the administrator(s) to monitor those objects |
|
cpmCPUTotal5min |
Measure of overall CPU
consumption expressed as a percentage. Ø No specific Threshold values are specified; it is up to the administrator(s) to monitor this object and evaluate its reported value. |
|
locIfInputQueueDrops |
Number of inbound packets failed or dropped due to input queue was full. Ø Excessive input queue drops alarm. If the number of dropped packets exceeds 1% of the total number of inbound packets within the specified period (30 minutes); this alarm is to be generated. |
|
locIfOutputQueueDrops |
Number of outbound packets failed or dropped due to output queue was full Ø Excessive output queue drops alarm. If the number of dropped packets exceeds 10% of the total number of outbound packets within the specified period (30 minutes); this alarm is to be generated. |
|
locIfCarTrans, locIfCollisions, and locIfResets |
The number of Carrier transitions, collisions, and resets seen on the particular interface. No specific Threshold values are specified; it is up to the administrator(s) to monitor those objects |
