Solution Introduction & Details Overview:
This solution presentation focuses on obtaining the per interface Protocol Traffic Statistics of protocols as documented in the following solutions:

Other protocols include:
SNMP, Telnet, napster, IRC, RealAudio... and much more.
This management solution provides an application that monitors and accounts for the Protocol traffic performance and traffic statistics levels made through IP network devices and only on the specific administrator NBAR Protocol Discovery enabled interfaces.

It is essential to network administrators today to track particular applications performance and traffic statistics levels as they are interested in creating *true* and *functional* Application ‘Content Accounting Levels’.
The solution presentation is based on the Network-Based Application Recognition (NBAR) feature which populates the CISCO-NBAR-PROTOCOL-DISCOVERY MIB which includes the objects necessary to maintain the above described content accounting statistics.
The following table describes data that can be applied to the Protocol Traffic management solution:

Application Traffic Content Statistics |
Information about the Interface protocol traffic (application traffic) statistics. The collected statistics are collected for each participating interface(s) on each of the administrator configured managed elements. The statistics include: · Inbound number of Bytes (Per Protocol) · Inbound number of Packets (Per Protocol) · Outbound number of Bytes (Per Protocol) · Outbound number of Packets (Per Protocol) |
